Having to fish out small components from the bottom of your pickle pot is extremely infuriating. Here are some suggestions on how to solve that.
For larger items, a plastic basket that is as high as the pickle pot is the easiest solution. This one came from a cutlery cleaning product. It was much taller so I cut it to size. I use plastic tweezers to pull it out.
But sometimes items are too small to stay in the basket – granulation balls, small solder pallions that are extremely oxidized. In those instances I have to improvise.
My solution was to place them on a plastic spoon, suspended near the top of the pickle solution. I use third hand tweezers to keep it in place.
Just be careful not to overheat the pickle because it might melt the spoon.
