Trip to Gondomar – buying an old jeweller’s bench

After studying jewellery for 4 years I felt it was time to get a proper jeweller’s bench. Unfortunately it’s not the cheapest piece of furniture, which is why I’d been delaying its purchase for so long.

The second hand benches I found online were either in a terrible state or not that much cheaper than a new one. On top of that, the jewellery industry in Portugal is mainly in the northern area of the country so it would mean travelling a long way to get it.

I spoke to my husband about it and he wasn’t chocked about making the trip so I searched again and found one that looked recoverable and wasn’t too expensive.

It took us a day to get there and back but I’m now the proud owner of a proper jeweller’s bench. It just needs a little love and attention.
